Ties up with XLRI for the process, strengthens its focus on The Indian Corporates

Bangalore 2nd June 2014: Frédérique Constant, the renowned Geneva based Swiss luxury watchmaker announced the Frederique Constant CSR AWARD 2014 at the XLRI Alumni Meet held at Taj West End.

The award will be recognition towards the organisation demonstrating the greatest passion in their Corporate Social Responsibility programs.

“Frederique Constant has a single minded focus on the Indian corporate sector and what we found is that while there are numerous awards that recognise business achievements, there are none that recognise the passion of organisations that give back to society†said Arun D’Silva, India Representative of the brand.

While Frederique Constant would sponsor the award, the actual research for shortlisting the possible winner would be done by XLRI during the coming year. The final winner would be selected by a jury consisting of well-respected individuals from the social service fields as well as students of social sciences and national business publications. The award will be presented at the same event next year, 2015.

“It is true that luxury watch brands are niche players, and Frederique Constant is no exception. Having done a detailed analysis of the Indian market, we concluded that our brand was ideally suited to the Indian corporate sector.

Our designs are classical and timeless, and we use the round and rectangular cases with leather straps, with neat and clean dials and elegant indices and hands. These are compatible with suits and other formal work wear that senior executives prefer. Hence this was a perfect match. It is also very coincidental, that no other brand specifically focuses on the corporate sector in India.†Added Arun.

Frederique Constant’s marketing strategy has therefore been to build an awareness of the brand among the business leaders and senior management of Indian corporations, hence the association with this event of XLRI.

This private family company has achieved this esteemed position through a brilliantly planned and well-executed programme of expansion since the launch of its first products in 1991.

Frédérique Constant was founded in 1988 by Peter Stas and his wife Aletta in Geneva, with a clear objective to create what became known as ‘accessible luxury’ watches. By offering excellent quality watches with affordable prices Frédérique Constant has gradually become an important player within the Swiss watchmaking industry.

Still independent and family-owned, Frédérique Constant’s ultra-modern watch manufacture is now based in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, reaching a production of 130,000 timepieces in 2011. Frédérique Constant watches are defined by their high quality, differentiation and precision in design and manufacture. Each watch is assembled by hand and extensively controlled with the latest equipment to ensure maximum quality.

The company’s slogan ‘Live your Passion’ symbolises Peter and Aletta’s original philosophy, also present in their support of important charities such as the Par Coeur Association founded by the actress Eva Longoria or the International Children’s Heart Foundation and the sponsorship of prestigious events like the Vintage Motor Challenge between Peking and Paris.
