Bengaluru International Arts Festival 2014

Bengaluru International Arts Festival 2014 is now celebrating its 7th year in epitomizing “Celebration of Harmony through Artsâ€. Thought provoking and well curetted art presentations by artists from both India and abroad are being featured in BIAF 2014.

A seven year journey of art and culture, now bringing it to your nearby auditoriums, galleries and also public places, acknowledging arts for everybody! Creativity is unlimited, be it dancing, instruments, vocal or theatre!

This year BIAF has collaborated with various countries like Netherlands, Sri Lanka, France, Suriname, Rwanda to perform for Bengaluru audience. Folk groups are flying in from Sri Lanka, Odissa, Gujarat and North East.

Bengaluru Metro is one of the prime venues.

On the inaugural day, September 5th at 6:30 PM, we have GRAND FUSION CONCERT at Chowdiah Memorial Hallby Dr.Suma Sudhindra playing the Veena and Edward Ned McGowan on Western Flute, Violin by N.N.Ganesh Kumar,Mridangam & Konnakol by B.C.Manjunath, Tabla & Other Instruments by Anooru Anantha Krishna Sharma and Drums/percussions by Karthik Mani.

“BIAF was conceived & envisaged keeping in mind the need for an International Arts Festival in our country. Our endeavour is to showcase world class performances from legendary artists to the gen next. Over the last six years we have had artists from over 14 countries perform at our festival.

AIM is headed by Dr. Suma Sudhindra and Veena Murthy Vijay. With their painstaking effort, this duo have conceived, curetted and successfully hosted the past 6 editions of the BIAF. AIM is a team of artists with a progressive attitude towards the arts.
