Youth from Chennai becomes first Indian suicide bomber for ISIS? Security agencies verifying reports

New Delhi: Reports of a young Indian, who joined ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria), killing himself in the suicide bombing have emerged recently.

However, the reports are not yet confirmed and are being verified by the security agencies. In case, the incident is confirmed then this will be the first instance of an Indian killing self in suicide bombing for ISIS.

According to initial reports, the boy from Chennai blowed himself in the region captured by ISIS militants. It is notable that the news of 20-30 youth from India joining ISIS remained prominent in last few days.

Also, Al-Qaeda announced about his expansion in the Indian subcontinent. In a video, Ayman al-Zawahiri talked about creating Qaidat al Jihad as one of its branch in India. If the information about youth blowing himself in suicide attack comes out to be true, then it can raise some serious security concerns for the country.

One of the security officials said “If this information turns out to be true, we are in for some serious trouble if and when these boys return.” There have been confirmed reports of four youths from Thane in Maharashtra joined ISIS earlier in the month. One of the 4 youths was killed while fighting for ISIS.
