New Delhi, Feb. 18: Bihar Bharatiya Janata Party MLA’s may support Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi in the vote of confidence in the Assembly which is to take place on February 20.
“The meeting is on and the common say is that the BJP should support Jitan Ram Manjhi. So far, all the party members are of the same view. The meeting will continue tomorrow,” said BJP leader Vinod Narayan Jha.
The Patna High Court has given Manjhi the freedom to take decisions but said that they can be implemented only after the latter proves a majority on the floor of the assembly.
The Manjhi-led government will seek a confidence vote on February 20.
Earlier in the day, Manjhi had claimed to have gained the vote of confidence in the Bihar Assembly , ahead of the floor test on Friday.
“You will see on February 20, we will secure the vote of confidence,” Manjhi told mediapersons in Patna.
“We have the support of all MLAs,” he said when asked if he has the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
