New Delhi, Jan.7: Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler has said he would be interested in involving himself with a proposed football academy in Pune, Maharashtra.
Fowler said that he would be interested in setting up a training centre in the country with the help of his former club.
“Well look, the scope is good here in India. I mean, the passion of it is tremendous. I know it’s not as big as cricket, but the growth is certainly there but I would be interested in working here. I’d definitely be interested,” said Fowler.
Looking at the plans for a proposed football academy in Pune, Fowler said he hopes to see some good Indian players coming out of the academy.
Fowler was in India to promote a brand partnership between Liverpool and smartphone device manufacturer Xolo.
