Bangalore: 5th March, 2014. After introducing multiplex culture to Angamaly in Kerala and getting its presence registered in Tamil Nadu with a state of the art multiplex in Dindigul, Carnival Cinemas ventures into Karnataka by opening its first outlet in the city at Rockline Mall, Jalahalli Cross in Bangalore in the presence of Kannada and Telugu superstar Sudeep along with Sri Rockline Venkatesh (Actor cum Producer). By taking over this property from famous Kannada film producer Rockline Venkatesh, Carnival Cinemas will be running this ultramodern four screens multiplex with a seating capacity of 927 from Feb 28, 2014.
While speaking about this take over Carnival Group chairman Mr Shrikant Bhasi said, “Situated at the prime location of Jalahalli Cross, Carnival Cinemas at Rockline Mall is easily accessible and is by far the best option for the greatest, latest, mind-blowing 2D and 3D films.
“As of now, we are in emerging stage in Bangalore. But our road map in Bangalore has been laid carefully and we are sure that it will turn into a major hub for entertainment with providing best facilities to our customers in the coming year. We have already signed screens in Mysore and by 2015, Carnival will have 40 screens in Karnataka,â€said Bhasi adding that they had also pioneered in playing National Anthem Jana Gana Mana in its theatres in Kerala and the idea was later adopted by several others.
Equipped with Real Image Media Technologies, Carnival has tapped the Rockline Mall in Jalahalli Cross, which is thickly populated with all the major educational institutions and other industries around. The connectivity of the locality with rest of Bangalore is another plus point to gear up the beginning. Carnival group aims to become one the largest player in this industry and to give a quality movie watching experience to the people in tier two and three cities.
Carnival Cinemas, a part of a Mumbai-based business group aims to lead south Indian cinema exhibition by the end of 2014, with a holding of 87 screens. Considering the number of film releases in Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil Carnival Cinemas is focused to spread its roots in the smaller cities in south.
Apart from this it has also signed 20 screens which would be operational in TN in the next six months with further expansion plans in Andhra Pradesh bringing world class movie experience to most of the towns in the southern states.
Further, about 50 screens are slated to be opened in Madhya Pradesh. Carnival Cinemas plans to become a holder of 300 screens across India by 2016 with the investment of Rs 400 Cr and be a big player in the multiplex business segment in the country. It has adopted both organic and inorganic mode of expansion to speed up the growth.
With a planned tie- up with a firm from Hollywood in Los Angeles, Carnival Cinemas would bring updated technology available in the world. Carnival Group aims to provide quality movie watching experience to the movie goers of smaller cities and town in the country. Carnival group with its own chain of food court and recreation facilities is aiming at wholesome family entertainment zones in most of the places where it sets up multiplexes.
