Bangalore: Emphasizing the need for electing a stable government and an able leader, Bangalore South MP & BJP National General Secretary Ananth Kumar on Sunday said only his party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi was capable of ushering in revolutionary changes in the nation and enabling a healthy GDP growth rate.

Speaking after flagging off ‘Make India Win’ campaign by BJP Yuva Morcha here, he pointed out that Modi had a long-term vision for the nation. “Ask the Congress what plans they have for the nation… They have no plans because the Congress has caused extensive damage to the nation’s economy and society.

If at all anybody is capable of reversing it, that is the BJP,†Ananth Kumar asserted.

He pointed out the Congress had lost control over governance. “Prices of essential commodities spiralled; inflation is at an all-time high and fuel costs have gone up significantly. Narendra Modi has a plan to reduce all of these to the levels prevailing during the tenure of our visionary leader A B Vajpayee as the PM. The whole nation is eager to see Modi as the PM,†he stated.

According to Ananth Kumar, Modi had travelled the length and breadth of the nation to understand the issues at the grassroots level.

“From Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Kutch to Kohima, Modiji has conducted 272 meetings in 150 days, a feat no other political leader has to been able to achieve. That is the USP of Modi, as he understands the pulse of the nation and the people unlike our present Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who has become a mute spectator to all the scams of the Congress leaders,†he added.

The BJP leader ridiculed the Congress leaders’ lack of vision for the nation. “Let alone nation, the Congress has no plans for a growing city like Bangalore. The Congress’ contribution to Bangalore is zilch. The BJP has been instrumental in bringing Metro Rail to Bangalore and 500 million litres per day Cauvery River water to the city. It was the BJP, which facilitated the implementation of Kempe Gowda International Airport… Give BJP another chance and see how the state and the city will improve,†he added.

Ananth Kumar said the BJP candidates from Bangalore – former CM D V Sadananda Gowda (Bangalore North); P C Mohan (Bangalore Central); M Gowda (Bangalore Rural); B N Bachche Gowda (Chikkaballapura) and himself would work for the welfare of the city. “The BJP has always been instrumental in taking up the case of the city and its people. We will never let you down,†he said.
