Best Construction Project-2014 award for NICE project

Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), established by The Planning  Commission (Govt. of India) & the Construction Industry has awarded Nandi InfrastructureCorridor Enterprise (NICE) project for “Construction of Rigid Pavement” as Best Construction Project-2014 in the country.

The award was presented to NICE Limited during 18th CIDC Annual Day and 6th CIDC Vishwakarma Awards 2014 function on Friday 7th March 2014 at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110 003.

M/s. India International Infrastructure Engineers Limited who were design and supervision consultant for this project were also awarded with certificate and they extended sincere thanks to NICE Managing Director Mr.

Ashok Kheny for having given opportunity to participate in this prestigious best construction project in the country. During this award ceremony, NICE Managing Director Mr. Ashok Kheny was present and received the award.

This project was also awarded as an “Outstanding Concrete Structure of Karnataka -2013″ by Indian Concrete Institute – Karnataka Bangalore Centre in September 2013.

The Jury Committee of CIDC had appreciated the quality of the project and stated the project has positive impact on the environment. The consultants M/s. IIIE Ltd has stated that the life of the pavement is 60 years. This pavement reduces the fuel consumption for heavy trucks which results in less carbon emission and which is helpful in global warming reduction, This project has got several positive impacts on the environment such as reduction in surface temperature, energy saving to illuminate during nights, fuel savings, preserving natural aggregates during the life of 60 yea~s etc.

As concrete pavement can be 100% recyclable after its service life and hence these roads are highly sustainable.
