GPRS enabled Electronic cash Transactions become reality at Begumpet Airport as part of AAI nationwide facility

 Today: 14.03.2014, Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad: Cash transactions for collection of Airport charges from Non-Scheduled Operators at Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad have become history with the commissioning of GPRS enabled EDC terminal at Begumpet Airport.

Shri. G. Ashok Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation Govt. of India, during the launch of this facility stated that he lauds the efforts of AAI in introducing this facility within a very short span.

This facility was launched on 21st September 2013 from Juhu Airport and now almost all Airports managed by AAI have this facility. The salient features of this facility are:

1.    It is GPRS enabled.

2.    Multi Currency handler.

3.    Risk of fake currency minimized.

4.    Non-Scheduled operators can now enjoy credit of 45 days on payment through credit cards, which till now they were remitting through cash transactions.

5.    Working on Real Time basis and on reduced manpower.

This facility was inaugurated during India Aviation 2014 on 14.03.2014 by Shri. G. Ashok Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation in the presence of Shri. Rajesh Bhandari, Executive Director (Finance), AAI, Shri. I.N. Murthy, General Manager (CIC), AAI, Hyderabad and other Senior Officials of AAI and Civil Aviation fraternity.
