New Delhi: There has been yet another attack on the Aam Aadmi Party leaders as party chief Arvind Kejriwal was on Friday slapped by a man in Dakshinpuri in Delhi. AAP workers beat the attacker up following the incident.

The police identified him as Abdul Wahid, a resident of the Batla House area in Jamia Nagar.

Kejriwal was travelling in an open jeep during a roadshow when the incident took place. Wahid has now been taken into custody by police.

The AAP supporters claim that he was paid Rs 25,000 for attacking Kejriwal.

Soon after the attack, Kejriwal appealed to his supporters not to retaliate.

“We will not retaliate even if we are killed,” he said.

This is not the first time that Kejriwal has been attacked this election season. Kejriwal had faced an ink attack in Varanasi on the day he announced his candidature from the temple town.

He was also attacked in Bhiwani in Haryana last week, following which he had asked his supporters not to resort to violence.

Earlier AAP leader Yogendra Yadav too had faced an ink attack at Jantar Mantar last month.

Kejriwal has been refusing to accept security cover despite such attacks on him saying he wants to end the VVIP culture.
