Woman’s bid to blackmail realtor with sleazy video lands her in jail

Lust and greed, two of the Seven Deadly Sins, is the underlining theme of this crime story whose victim is a 50-year-old Rohini-based realtor.

Meenakshi Sharma alias Meena had first ensnared Jitendra Fauzdar with her looks and, then, with a sleazy video to extort Rs.10 crore from him.

Jitendra had met Meenakshi, 30, at Bharatpur in Rajasthan when he had gone there to attend some college function a few months ago. Meena used to operate a beauty parlour at a locality in the Rajasthan town. At the end of the function, Jitendra and Meena had exchanged their phone numbers.

The victim, also a leader of a national party, has an engineering college in Bharatpur.

“After some weeks, Jitendra received a call from Meenakshi seeking a meeting regarding some work. They met at a restaurant in Bharatpur. She later took him to her flat on the pretext of meeting with someone else. He was offered a cold drink laced with sedatives there after which he was rendered unconscious. The accused allegedly removed his clothes and shot a video of him with her,” a police source said.

When Jitendra returned to Delhi after some days, he received a call from Meenakshi demanding Rs.10

crore failing which she threatened to release a nude video clip of him. ” The victim got scared and after negotiation, he got ready to give them money. He proposed to provide them the whole amount in installments. He later gave her around Rs.5 lakh as the first installment,” the source said, adding Meena pressured Jitendra to give rest of amount to her immediately.

Later, the victim somehow mustered courage and informed his wife about the whole episode. The couple had approached the police for help. A case was registered under Sections 384 (extortion), Section 506 (threatening) and 34 (committing a crime with common intention) of the IPC at the Prashant Vihar Police Station.

Sleuths had laid a trap in Bharatpur on Saturday.

“Meenakshi along with mediator Arun, a Bharatpur-based jeweller, were caught when they were accepting the money. The police also seized the video clip from her possession,” the source said.

Investigation revealed that Meenakshi along with her husband Sandeep used to drug victims and make their obscene videos to blackmail them. ” She was running the racket for the last few months after getting a clue from some episode of a daily television show. The accused had blackmailed and extorted money from over 10 businessmen after making their obscene videos. Meenakshi and her associate were arrested.  Sandeep and his accomplice are absconding. The Delhi Police is raiding several locations in Jaipur to nab them,” the officer said.
