Girls, let this be a lesson to you: Never ever take that fantastic boyfriend at face value. He might end up blowing you up like this man did in China.

Li Moulian, 36, kidnapped his pregnant girlfriend Xu Fan, 21, strapped a gas tank to her back and then blew it up in his car.

The incident took place in Huizhou city in Guangdong Province, China. The couple both suffered horrific injuries, but their baby is said to be out of danger and doing well.

The couple had got into a relationship after a one-night stand which led to Xu Fan’s pregnancy.

They both decided to stay together and she moved in with him. But things didn’t go too well between the two of them and culminated with Li Moulian kidnapping her in the middle of the night and blowing her up with a gas tank.

Li Moulian set off the gas tank after hearing the police sirens heading their way. “As the police car with a siren approached the car with the man and woman inside, and another blocked off its escape route from the rear, the man ignited something in the car which exploded into flames,” said police spokesman Tao Hou.

Both were pulled from the burning car alive, suffering life-threatening burns. Fan’s unborn baby survived but its condition is not yet known.

Xu’s uncle Wu Chin said, “We had warned her that she needed to know more about him before deciding to spend her life with him. It seems sadly the warnings were true as he clearly has mental problems. To suddenly accuse her in the middle of the night trying to kill his parents shows he is obviously severely paranoid.”

The couple are being treated side-by-side in a hospital. While Xu Fan and her unborn child are expected to recover, Li Moulian is not expected to survive.
