CREDAI celebrates May Day at MCC grounds

This May Day, 683 Labourers Had a Day to Remember

CREDAI organized a day of fun and games for over 683 labourers of all member organizations’ projects at Mount Carmel College Grounds

Bangalore, May 1st 2014: This Labour Day, workers across all projects of CREDAI member real estate development organizations had something special in store for them. In honour of Labour Day, CREDAI organized a day of games and good food at the Mount Carmel College Ground in Vasanthnagar. Over 680 labourers came forward to participate in the event.

Mr.Suresh Hari, Secretary, CREDAI Bengaluru said, “We are doing this for the 4th year with deep satisfaction and gratitude for our workers, who toil round the year to produce best for us.

This day is to express our sincere thanks to the workers and their families.â€

Mr.Anil Nayak, CEO, CREDAI, Karnataka “This is the 4th consecutive year that CREDAI- Bengaluru is conducting this event. Almost every year around 700 labourers participate in this event. Sports activitiesare conducted from 10am to 1pm such as 100,200 and 400 meters running, shot put and long jump activities for men and women. We have seen enthusiastic participation in all these events. The special attraction for this year’s event was Mr.Sunil Joshi, former Indian Cricketer honoring the winners. Karnataka Athletic Association has given professional association to CREDAI to conduct this eventâ€

This initiative was set in motion as part of the CSR activities conducted by CREDAI.

Mr.Sunil Joshi, former Indian cricketer said, “May Day is where everyone one of us would like to show our respect to those who work hard and to labourers as well. I felt happy to honor these people. It was great day for me.â€

Labourers from various projects of the Brigade Group, Mantri Developers, Vaishnavi Group, Sattva Group, Puravankara, Total Environment, Sobha Group, Bearys Group, Value Design Build, Souparnika, Adarsh Developers, Olety Constructions, Shriram Group, Soul Space projects, JMC projects, Gray stone group and Pashmina developers participated in the activities organized for this event.

Pavitra Mandal, labourer, Brigade Group, who emerged a champion said, “This is a unique event. All day we do hard work in the sun and these kinds of events gives us happiness. When I heard about this event I started to practice for the same. My practice has given me the best result. I came first in 200 mts and 400 mts race.â€

Shameem, labourer, who came second in 100 mts and 200 mts race said, “For me it is the happiest day. Last year also I came for the same event conducted by CREDAI and won first prize. But this year I came second as I was wearing a saree. Nevertheless I am happyâ€.
