London, May 25: Timothy Spall won the best actor prize for his role in ‘Mr Turner’ by Mike Leigh.
The movie is based on artist J.M.W. Turner’s career and his bizarre private life with Spall in the leading role and it is due to be released on 31st October 2014, Contactmusic reported.
Julianne Moore won the best actress prize for her role in ‘Maps to the Stars’ by David Cronenberg, while Turkish film ‘Winter Sleep’ by Nuri Bilge Ceylan bagged the highest honour Palme d’or at the festival.
The critically acclaimed movie follows the family story of a former actor running a hotel in a small town in Anatolia.
