Mumbai: A teenage Iraqi girl has given a detailed account of how she was sexually abused on a daily basis after being captured by the Islamic State fighters. As reported by Mail Online, the 17-year-old girl has mentioned that she is among the 40 Yazidi women who have been kept as sex slaves after the extremist group seized their town four weeks ago.

Her ordeal was so difficult that she often wished that she were beaten to death but what makes her live, despite all this, is the hope to meet her parents again.

She was allowed to speak to an Italian newspaper ‘La Repubblica’ on a mobile phone as her captors wanted the world to know about the treatment given to her, as reported by the Daily Telegraph.

She also mentioned that some of the girls were as young as 13 and had been shocked into silence as a result of the abuse they had suffered.

They are all being held in a building with barred windows, which is guarded by armed fighters in a village south of the ISIS stronghold of Mosul, the girl said. Hundreds of women from the Yazidi religious minority were taken captive by Sunni militants with “vicious plans,” further underscoring the dire plight of Iraq’s minorities at the hands of the Islamic State group.

Hundreds of Yazidi women below the age of 35 were being held in schools in Iraq’s second largest city, Mosul.

He said the ministry learned of the captives from their families. With tens of thousands trapped on the mountaintop by encircling jihadists, the U.S. and UK was called in to help with air strikes and aid drops, allowing many to flee to safety in Syria, Kurdistan and Turkey.

But many women were captured, with some British jihadists boasting that they numbered in excess of 300.
