The Narendra Modi government on Thursday announced plans to establish five new Indian Institutes of Technology and six Indian Institutes of Managament to mark the completion of its 100 days in power.
The proposed IITs are to be established in Kerala, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
The prestigious IIMs are to come up in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Odisha, Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh.
In the run-up to the Lok Sabha polls, Modi had promised an IIT, IIM and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in every state of India.
