J&K Floods: Landslide submerges entire village, at least 30 dead

Saddal, Jammu: An entire village was wiped off by landslide claiming lives of at least 40 residents.

Saddal village has become a big heap of mud and rubble after landslide consumed the entire stretch of the village.

Rescue agencies, comprising of NDRF and Indian Army have been desperately trying to fetch bodies. So far, they have been able to rescue only 10 bodies.

It is being reported that a portion of mountainside collapsed and engulfed the entire village.

Another landslide on the approach road to the village obstructed the passage of rescue

workers, severely hampering the rescue operation.

In the wake of heavy rains and landslides, army and IAF used aerial route to reach the spot. A team of 10 Garhwal Rifle is at the spot of the tragedy and is making all efforts to look for possible survivors
