Karnataka Advocates Society has claimed that Aam Aadmi Party has ventured against Honourable Justice of Karnataka High Court, Shri K.L.Manjunath for undesirable reasons and initiated a signature campaign to start impeachment proceedings.
He was elevated as Additional Judge of Karnataka High Court in Dec 2000 and confirmed him as High Court Judge in Oct 2001. Justice Manjunath has delivered several remarkable judgements and prior to which he was a practising advocate in Karnataka.
The attempt made by members of Aam Aadmi Party for impeachment of the Honourable Justice is an attempt to scandalize the judge and judiciary; and is done with an intention to bring down reputation and question the integrity of the judiciary, claimed Senior Counsel, Ms Premila Nesargi.
She also requested the President of India to oust the notice of motion for impeachment against him and the MPs elected and nominated from Karnataka to support the same.
