New York, Sept. 27: Asserting that India’s ancient wisdom sees the world as one family. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that India’s philosophy is ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’.
“Every nation has their own philosophy. I am not talking about ideology. This philosophy guides the nation. India’s is Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” said Prime Minister Modi in his maiden address at the United Nations General Assembly.
Prime Minister Modi said every nation’s world view is shaped by its civilization and philosophical tradition.
“India’s ancient wisdom sees the world as one family. It is this timeless current of thought that gives India an unwavering belief in multilateralism,” he added.
Prime Minister Modi said India is a country that has always raised its voice for justice, dignity, opportunity and prosperity.
Expressing his delight to address the UNGA for the first time as the Prime Minister of India, he said: “I stand here conscious of the hopes and expectations of the people of India. I am also mindful of the expectations of the world from 1.25 billion people.”
“India is a country that constitutes one-sixth of humanity; a nation experiencing economic and social transformation on a scale rarely seen in history,” added Prime Minister Modi while making his address in Hindi.
