Oslo, (Norway), Oct. 13: President Pranab Mukherjee met Norway’s head of state King Herald fifth and other dignitaries in Oslo at a ceremonial reception at the Palace Plaza on Monday, as part of his state visit to the Nordic nation.
President Mukherjee who reached Oslo on Sunday was accorded a traditional welcome on the first leg of his six-day visit to Norway and Finland.
He is the first ever Indian head of state to visit Norway. During the President’s visit, India and Norway are expected to reach an agreement on nuclear safety measures. Other agreements to be inked are in the fields of education, trade and earth sciences.
He will also interact with Indian PhD students studying at the University of Svalbard
