‎BJP‬ & ShivSena‬ unite to rule Maharashtra?

Mumbai: As the trends of the Maharashtra Assembly polls continue to trickle in, it is becoming clear that the BJP will emerge as the single largest party in the state. As per the trends available, the BJP is leading at 108 seats while the Shiv Sena is trailing behind at 58.
With indications that the BJP may fall short of attaining the majority, there is now speculation that the party may forge a post-poll alliance with Shiv Sena to form government.
Devendra Fadnavis, state BJP president and frontrunner in the CM race, today said BJP’s rival is not Shiv Sena but Congress and NCP, giving ample hints that the party is not averse to reviving the coalition with Maharashtra party.

“Shiv Sena has never been our political opponent. We have never said anything against them, we never criticised them in our campaign,” Fadnavis said. He, however, added, “The way they criticised us, the way they spoke against our leaders, we were deeply hurt.”
Party sources however added that even if the two parties join hands, the BJP will not accept Shiv Sena’s demand for rotational CM. It may be recalled that the two parties had decided to fight elections alone in Maharashtra after failing to agree on seat-sharing.
Post break-up, the leaders of the two parties had hit out at each other. Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray had not even spared Prime Minister Narendra Modi and also dragged his father’s name.
