New Delhi: In an open threat to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre, Trinamool Congress MP Idris Ali said West Bengal will burn if the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) tries to frame Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in connection with the multi-crore Saradha scam.

”If Mamata Banerjee is arrested in the Saradha scam, entire West Bengal will burn,” Idris Ali was caught on camera issuing a threat to the NDA government at the Centre.

The TMC MP has reportedly made the statement during a public rally on Tuesday.

”No one can touch her, she is not the daughter of just Bengal, but entire India. If anybody touches Mamata, Bengal will burn,” Ali said.

Suspended TMC leader Kunal Ghosh had earlier made serious allegations against Mamata Banerjee by saying that West Bengal CM was the biggest beneficiary of the scam.

Recently, the CBI has arrested West Bengal Transport Minister and Mamata’s close Madan Mitra in connection with Saradha scam. Mitra was arrested on December 12 by CBI and remanded to judicial custody till January 2.

Later, Mamata had termed Mitra’s arrest as illegal and unconstitutional.

The Saradha scam brought a huge embarrassment for TMC chief as party MP Kunal Ghosh, Madan Mitra, Mukol Roy and many other top leaders got arrested for being involved in the scam.

Of late, BJP and TMC were engaged in war of words over the alleged involvement of Mamata Banerjee in the multi-crore Saradha scam.

BJP president Amit Shah, while addressing a huge rally at Kolkata, had alleged that Saradha chit fund money was used in the October 2 Burdwan blast which is being probed for link with Jamaatul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) terror outfit.
