Sydney, Jan 10: India hit a new low in Test cricket today when they slipped to the number 7 spot in the latest ICC Rankings after the completion of the series against Australia. India battled to save the 4th and final Test against Australia in Sydney today on the 5th day but lost the series 0-2. With this, they have placed a lowly 7th in the ICC Test Rankings.
Virat kohli-led India have 95 rating points and are only above West Indies, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. Under MS Dhoni’s leadership, India had claimed the top ranking in Test cricket in 2009. With a series of overseas defeats since 2011, the team has been on the downfall in rankings. South Africa are the top side now and Australia are second followed by England. Pakistan are at 4th position.
