Monday, February 09, 2015, New Delhi: Union Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari today said payment process for national highways-related works and services would no longer be delayed and bills disposed of within five days.
The Minister said any official who failed to perform would face strict action.
Mr Gadkari said this at the inauguration of a web-based payment monitoring system.
The Minister said with the launch of this website, a lot of complaints related to the payment would cease as they would be completed within five days.
He said the purpose was to make his ministry’s work more transparent and simple.
The Minister added that he favoured online filing as practised in Hong Kong, which was very successful. If the online system was done in India, people could know about the progress of their work sitting at home.
