Anti-corruption crusader and noted Gandhian Anna Hazare on Tuesday congratulated the Aam Aadmi Party’s leader Arvind Kejriwal for his party’s spectacular performance in Delhi Assembly polls. He said that the election result was in favour of AAP because the “achhe din only came for industrialists” after the Narendra Modi-led government came to power at the Centre eight months back.
“I extend my best wishes to Kejriwal,” Anna told reporters here. He also urged the AAP convenor, a former Team Anna member, not to forget his struggle for the Jan Lokpal Bill and take it forward. “The public earlier thought that ‘ache din ane wale hain’ but the good days came only for industrialists and that’s why AAP’s acceptability increased among the people.
“Public’s parliament is bigger than any government. They have given their mandate,” he said. Asked about the advice he would like to give Kejriwal, Hazare said, “I will not tell him how to run the government. He has more experience than me. I hope he will do a good job”.
“I would also like to tell Bedi that winning or losing is part of a game. Whatever good work she has been doing for the country and society, she should continue doing that,” he said, referring to the former Team Anna member and BJP chief ministerial candidate.
