CM: Arvind Kejriwal Takes Oath

Brothers and sisters, mothers and the elderly, namaskar and pranam.

Friends, today is a historic day. This oath was not taken by Arvind Kejriwal and the six ministers. The people of Delhi have taken the oath as chief minister and ministers.

This movement was to give power into the hands of the people. Today is a victory for the common people.

People have done a great work at the elections.

People of the country had lost hope. But this time, in the Delhi polls, people showed that elections can be fought with honesty, elections can be won with honesty.

I want to thank Ishwar, Allah and Wahe Guru. The victory looks like a miracle. Two years ago, we never thought people will be able to uproot corrupt politics and establish a people’s government.

This is just the beginning. The real fight is a long one. But six-seven ministers cannot fight it alone.

If 1.5 crore people of Delhi come together, we can uproot corruption.

We do not say we have the solution to all problems. We do not have a magic wand. But if all the people come together, there is not a problem whose solution cannot be found.

The government will not be run by seven ministers, some officers and the police. We will create a system where 1.5 core people will run the government.

Two and a half years ago, we stood at this Ramlila Maidan where Anna-ji was fasting. We wanted a Jan Lokpal Bill. But we realised we had to change the government’s politics. Anna-ji said politics is like mud and you will get dirty. But I told him we have to enter this filth and clean it up. Most of our problems are there because politics is bad.

In this battle, we lost our associate Santosh Koli. Today, if her soul is seeing us, she’ll be happy that her sacrifice did not go in vain.

People warn me that bureaucracy will no let you work. But I believe most officers are honest and want to work for the people.

Delhi’s bureaucracy has to show that the country can be made corruption-free.

I just want to request my party workers and legislators that there should be no ego in us. We want to break the ego of other parties. No other party should be born to break our ego.

Parties will put up different kinds of roadblocks. But the road of truth is full of difficulties and people of Delhi are ready to face all challenges.

I feel that there is a big responsibility on us. But we will run the government with the people. But we do feel scared since expectations are high.

But I pray to god to give us the strength that we do not err and stay on the path of truth and one day truth will be victorious.

BJP leader Harsh Vardhan is a good man. I cannot say the same about his party. I appeal to all Congress and BJP leaders that if you really feel what we are doing is good for the nation, forget your party and join our struggle.

There will be a confidence motion after some days but we whether we lose or win, we do not bother. We are ready to go back to the people and people will make us victorious again.

In the last two years, something amazing is happening in the country. When thousands came to the road for Anna-ji’s movement, wondered if it was a miracle. Then last December, when Damini was raped, thousands again came on the roads. I believe in five years, the country again will be called ‘Sone ki chidiya’.

I want to ask people to take the oath that they will never give bribes again.

If anyone asks money from you, do not say no. Make an arrangement. I will give you a phone number. Call us and we will catch them red-handed. I promise to get your work done. You just help us catch the corrupt red-handed.

Please repeat after me: I take the oath that in my life, I will never take bribe or give bribe.

Please pray with me: “Insaan ka insaan se ho bhaichara, yehi paigham hamara.

Har ek mahal se kaho ki jhopriyon main diye jalaye.

Choto aur badon main ab koi phark nahi rah jaye.

Is dharti par ho pyar ka ghar-ghar ujiyara.

Yehi paigham hamara. Insaan ka insaan se ho bhaichara, yehi paigham hamara.”

Bharat mata ki Jai. Inquilab Jindbad. Vande Mataram.

Thank you very much.
