Hyderabad, Feb 18 Multilingual filmmaker D Rama Naidu, who made memorable films like ‘Ramudu-Bheemudu’, ‘Srikrishna Tulabharam’ and ‘Premnagar’, died here on Wednesday following protracted illness. He was 78.
The Dada Saheb Phalke Award-winner was unwell for some time and the end came this afternoon, family sources said.
Bollywood celebrities today condoled the death of legendary film producer D Rama Naidu while acknowledging his immense contribution to Indian cinema.
The Dadasaheb Phalke Award-winner produced films in different languages including Hindi, Bengali, Oriya, Assamese, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Gujarati, Marathi and Bhojpuri.
He had a brief stint in politics when he won the Lok Sabha seat in 1999 on a Telugu Desham ticket.
Riteish Deshmukh took to twitter, saying, “Legendary filmmaker Daggubati Rama Naidu passes away-his contribution in building Indian Cinema is immense. thank you sir. RIP.”
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri tweeted, “RIP D Rama Naidu Sahab.
