It will boost the morale of budding civil officers and others working in IAS if a CBI investigation is made

The death of 36-year old IAS official Mr.DK Ravi, at the peak of his career has sure created a wide uproar among many people across Karnataka demanding justice and a CBI probe that is independent of the State Government. Was it a murder or a suicide and even if it was a suicide what drove him to take such an extreme step?

On March 20th, IBC World News crew caught up with S.Kalyan Basavaraj, the former assistant solicitor general of India, who voiced his opinion on the matter and is pro- CBI investigation on the case.

“He was an honest bureaucrat who has taken several measures to put the rule of law in place†explains Mr.Kalyan.  On asking him about the 44 calls made by Mr.Ravi to a female colleague on the day of his death, Mr.Kalyan maintained that “it is a matter of investigationâ€.

Mr.Basavaraj also said that an independent CBI probe will boost the morale of honest and upright officials who are transparent and look for doing well to society. On asking him why he thinks the government is hesitant to hand over the case to the CBI he said “That they might be having their own opinions, but interference of local politicians can be checked if CBI investigation is conductedâ€.
