IAS lady batchmate, whose name is doing the rounds in the mysterious death of her colleague and upright IAS officer DK Ravi used Facebook to express her stand on the case. In her short statement on the social messenger, the lady officer posts – “Truth shall prevail†on her Facebook page at 4:54 on March 22.

The lady officer, whose identity has been withheld, was repeatedly dragged into the case after CID officers revealed to a section of the media that DK Ravi made the last call and message to the officer, who shared  an intimate friendship.

According to the CID sources, DK Ravi had reportedly sent a message with the meaning “We will meet in next life†to the lady officer, after his attempt to call her just before his death went in vain.

The lady officer, who is married to a realtor, reportedly disconnected the call of the married DK Ravi, who was ‘pestering her to marry him’. It was said to be one-sided love.

During the investigation, the lady officer was quizzed by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), with whom she revealed all the SMS and call details indicating she was being harassed by Ravi.

The CID has been preparing to present Ravi’s text message to the lady officer as a suicide note, and the state government was planning to present the report in the state legislature on Monday.

Meanwhile, the restraining order was passed on a plea filed by the husband of the IAS officer who has emerged as a key individual in the investigation into the death.

Justice Abdul Nazeer held a special sitting at his residence on Sunday on the directions of the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court. Appearing for IAS Officer’s husband, senior advocate Sajjan Poovayya pleaded that there was no provision for presentation of an interim report that arrives at a post haste conclusion. The advocates also cited a Supreme Court order in a case involving Ratan Tata where it was ruled that private information could not be disclosed.

In his interim order, Justice Nazeer restrained the state government from publicizing any interim probe by the CID. “The respondents are restrained from making or publicizing any interim report or making any public statement pertaining to the investigation being conducted with respect to the unnatural death of late D K Ravi… pending disposal of this writ petition. This however will not prevent the respondents from continuing with the investigation,†said the order.

While initial investigations have indicated that the 36-year-old IAS officer died due to suicide, the death has created a furore in the state, with the Opposition seeking a CBI inquiry and the state government agreeing so far only to a CID probe, a stand which the government changed only on Monday, committing itself to a CBI probe.
