Labourers murdered by unidentified gunmen at construction site in Turbat in Pakistan’s Balochistan Province have been buried.

Reports and photographs showed Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Malik taking part in the funeral ceremonies on Saturday.

The labourers were killed at a construction site 15 kilometres from Turbat and hailed from outside of Balochistan.

Balochistan’s Interior Minister Akbar Hussain Durrani has been quoted, as saying that Baloch rebels may have been responsible for these murders.

Separatists in Balochistan are known to kidnap and kill civilians from other parts of the country and also attack gas facilities, infrastructure and security posts.

Balochistan is also home to Taliban insurgents, drug smugglers, kidnapping rings, sectarian militants, and government-backed paramilitary death squads.
