Business-oriented social networking service LinkedIn has launched a new tool called Elevate.

Elevate suggests articles to its users based on algorithms.

According to the TechCrunch, LinkedIn Elevate combines algorithmic recommendations from LinkedIn Pulse and Newsle and human curation and then lets users schedule and share those links across LinkedIn and Twitter.

Elevate is a paid mobile and desktop app.

Elevate is available for desktop, iOS and Android.

The app lets businesses beam relevant content to employees to share with their networks to help increase engagement and connections for their companies. LinkedIn is banking on the idea that content shared by employees will feel more authentic than when it comes from companies.

Elevate also let both companies and employees see how many likes, comments and re-shares their content has received, as well as job views and company page followers.

Elevate will help companies increase selling and hiring

LinkedIn in Q1 says that it ran a private pilot with several large companies, including Unilever, Adobe and Quintiles, which is helping it figure out usage of the app and the pricing for the app.

For now, LinkedIn Elevate is available only by invitation and will open to the public by Q3, at which point LinkedIn will also unveil price of the app
