“Today, we have gathered here to oppose anti-farmer policies of [Prime Minister Narendra] Modi Govt. During poll campaigning, Modi ji used to go around saying they will work for farmers but nothing of that sort happened,” Singh said while addressing the Kisan Rally at the Ramlila Ground.

” Congress has always worked for the farmers, with the farmers. I welcome you all, thank you for coming in such large numbers and encouraging us,” he added.

Former defence minister A.K. Antony also said that party president Sonia Gandhi Sonia Gandhi will lead this massive movement to victory

“I am happy to welcome all of you for attending this massive Kissan Rally. This rally is organized against the anti-farmer policies of Narendra Modi government. Rahul Ji has come back with more energy,” he added.

Farmers from across the nation, specifically from the northern parts of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan have started arriving for the event and are expected to participate wholeheartedly in it.
