Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said he was sure the second leg of Parliamentary Budget Session would witness high level of constructive discussions and debate to fulfill people’s aspirations.
“The second half of Parliament Budget session begins today. I’m grateful to opposition parties for their cooperation in previous Parliament session. I’m confident second half of session will also see high level of constructive discussions with similar cooperation of all parties,” Prime Minister Modi said.
“I am sure this leg of the session will witness even higher standards of debate to fulfill people’s aspirations ,” he added.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took said on twitter that he looked forward to a productive session, filled with constructive debates on several issues.
The Rajya Sabha will reconvene the Budget Session on April 23.
Among the key legislations to be passed during this period will be the controversial Land Acquisition Bill, the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Bill and the Constitution Amendment Bill for introduction of Goods and Services Tax (GST), among others.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (ND) has a clear majority of 335 in the Lok Sabha but is weaker in the Rajya Sabha, with just 63 seats.
Both Houses will have 13 sittings each till May 8.
