China visit will lay foundation for enhancing economic cooperation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said his upcoming visit to China will lay the foundation for enhancing bilateral economic cooperation between New Delhi and Beijing.

The Prime Minister took to twitter to share his views.

“Looking forward to visiting China from 14-16 May to boost friendship between our 2 ancient civilizations and 2 largest developing nations,” he posted.

“I am confident my visit will lay the foundation for further enhancing economic co-operation with China in a wide range of sectors,” he added.

Sharing his travel itinerary, the Prime Minister also stated that he looks forward to visiting Xi’an in the Shaanxi Province in central China.

“In China I will visit Xi’an, Beijing and Shanghai. I eagerly await productive discussions with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang,” he wrote.

“Honoured that Mr. Xi Jinping invited me to Xi’an in his home province and a land associated with Xuan Zang, who visited India,” he added.

Prime Minister Modi further said that he looks forward to interacting with industrialists in Shanghai.

“I also look forward to meeting the captains of industry in Shanghai and sharing with them the wonderful opportunities India has to offer,” he posted.

“Am certain that my visit to China will strengthen stability, progress and prosperity in Asia,” he added.

In addition, the Prime Minister also posted his messages in Chinese. Prime Minister Modi’s visit to China will be the first leg of his six-day, three nation tour, which also includes visits of Mongolia and South Korea.
