A 32-year-old woman has alleged that she was kidnapped and gang-raped by five men in south Delhi’s Defence Colony area while she was on her way back home from a wedding party where she worked as an attendant.
She said that the men took her to a house in Khanpur and raped her in turns. A police officer said that they were informed about the incident by the driver who had dropped her.
The cops received the call from the driver, Sonu around 2.45am during which he said that he had seen a woman being kidnapped by a five men in a car.
She had told him that once she was done with her work she would call him for a lift. He said that as soon as she got off near the Moolchand flyover, the men in a white Hyundai Santro car stopped near her and dragged the woman into the car.
He said that they drove towards Khanpur. He reached the police station and informed the cops about the incident. He also mentioned the registration number of the car.
While the cops were tracking the car, they found the woman walking near Pushp Vihar in Dakshinpuri. She was identified by the auto-rickshaw driver and taken to the police station. She said that the men had taken her to a house in Dakshinpuri raped her in turns and even threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed the matter to anyone.
A raid was conducted at the house pointed out by the woman and three men identified as Akash (26), Deepak (32) and Aman (20) were arrested. Another man identified as Rohit (25) was arrested later.
During interrogations, they admitted to have taken the woman to the house owned by Aman’s father. Police said that all of them were unemployed.
The car was found to be owned by Rohit. The woman was later taken for a medical examination at the AIIMS where doctors confirmed a sexual assault after which a case under section 376 G (gangrape), 365 IPC (abduction) and 341 IPC (illegal confinement) was registered against the men. The woman has told he cops that she stays with a neighbour at a colony in Uttam Nagar and had gone to Moolchand for work. A police officer said that she had divorced from her husband three years back and had a child who now stays with her in-laws.
