The truly spectacular Orion Festival of Giving at the Orion Mall in Rajajinagar has just commenced. This charity event organized by Orion Mall in association with Smile Foundation has provided the citizens of Bangalore with a wonderful opportunity to come forward, donate and make a world of difference to the under-privileged.
A highlight of this event was the performance of Rodney Fernandes Concert recently at the Lakeside. This free concert by Rodney which began at 7.30 pm, quite literally, set the stage on fire and had people grooving to tunes, both old and new, some covers and some originals too.
Rodney Fernandes is a powerhouse in the world of live music performances and has earned the respect of several stalwarts such as Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Abhishek Bachhan, Sachin Tendulkar, Ravi Shastri, Gautam Singhania and many more. Amongst his memorable performances are those at the Pallazo Versace Hotel in Gold Coast, Brisbane, Australia, the engagement party of Imran Khan, Aamir Khan’s nephew, the RPG Annual Awards 2013 and many more.
With his dynamic stage presence, Rodney crooned a series of songs like London Tumakda, Tu mera Hero and Aaj Blue hain Pani much to the delight of the throngs that continued to gather around the stage.
The setting of the lakeside and the cool evening breeze of Bangalore made this concert a memorable one.
The Orion Festival of Giving is currently on at the Orion Mall and provides all patrons of the mall the opportunity to donate to charity items of everyday use that they no longer wish to keep. These products may range from clothes and books to usable footwear, toys as well as accessories. Donation counters at the mall will be placed beside the massive main staircase on the ground floor, Upper Ground Floor and the Lower basement areas.
Celebrated fashion guru Prasad Bidapa will choreograph a fashion show on the 23rd of May with a Bollywood star as the show stopper. Celebrities from all walks of life will walk the ramp for this event.
The charity event will culminate in an exclusive charity dinner and an auction on the 30th of May at the aspirational High Ultra lounge. Luxury items such as a business class trip to Paris and more will be on auction at this ticketed event. All of the proceeds will go to towards educating Children associated with the Smile Foundation.
