Novak Djokovic, who defeated nine-time grand slam champion Rafael Nadal in the French Open quarter-final, has come in support of the player, saying that he is still among the best players in the world.

The world number one said that Rafael was still among the best players in the world and should not be ruled out, adding that there was no player like the Spaniard.

He insisted that at the end of the day, he was a human and he understands that people were questioning his game, but if anyone needs a reminder of who he is, just look at his career stats and grand slams that he won.

Andy Murray, who was one of six players to defeat Nadal this year, added that he was still playing well but just not as well as before. He was coming back from a pretty rough six-seven month period, struggling with injuries and illness.

Earlier, the Spaniard, who had previously lost just one match in his 71 outings at the French Open at the hands of Robin Soderling in 2009, said that he lost in 2015 and it’s not the end.
