Indian Navy Issues RFI For Construction and delivery Of 5 self propelled Diving Support Craft

The Indian Defense Ministry on Monday has released a Request for Information (RFI) for the construction and delivery of five self propelled Diving Support Craft for the Indian Navy.

The Diving Support Craft should be capable of fully supporting operational/training dives in harbors and coastal waters. According to the RFI, the vessel will should have an expected life of 20 years, with an annual usage of approx 800 hrs. The vessel’s main and auxiliary machinery should permit continuous mission time of 48 hours. The vessel should be MARPOL compliant and be able to operate under Indian tropical ambient conditions.

The vessel should not be more than 30 meters in length.

The design and construction are to be of catamaran type of a proven design either existing in service or supported by model testing to prove the efficacy of design.
