Michelle Obama called up a group of girl scouts from Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Oklahoma and Washington, D.C. for an overnight camp party on the South Lawn of the White House.

The US First Lady told the girls that she was excited to have them as it was the first time White House have ever hosted a campout.

She praised all the 50 girls saying that were good campers and she was proud of them.

Reportedly, the young girls were excited to see Barack Obama at the party, but he didn’t stay with them for a long time and headed back inside, jokingly saying that he had to work and wasn’t allowed to have fun.

Also, there were knot-tying, rock-climbing, tent-pitching and orienteering stations arranged around the lawn, which the US President Barack Obama and his wife tried out.

Party was then followed by campfire, dinner of cheeseburgers, hot dogs, vegetable kabobs and banana boats in the State Dining Room and stargazing with NASA astronaut Cady Coleman.

Notably, Michelle serves as the honorary national president of Girl Scouts USA.
