Selflessness and doctors go hand-in-hand. Never mind the double shifts, the sleepless nights and the strong emotional tugs they handle through the day… if you need medical attention, they spring up to tend to your every need. This Doctors Day, St Martha’s saluted its 120 strong medical team for all their hard work in a special manner.
While the St Martha’s OPD functions from 8AM to 3PM every Monday to Saturday, July 1st was an exception. At 1PM, 120 doctors gathered at the Nurses Auditorium for a short formal function. A host of dignitaries graced the occasion and light the ceremonial lamp.
Dr. Geetanjali was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Dr. Ajith V Bhide addressed the gathering on the significance of this day dedicated to doctors.
The addresses were followed by the distribution of mementoes and certificates to the successful candidates of the DNBE {full form}. Dr Ravindranath, Medical Superintendent presented the mementoes and certificates to the meritorious students.
This formal function was followed by a cultural program that was staged by the nurses for the doctors.
