Emphasizing the importance that India attaches to its relations with Egypt, President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday said he is confident that the bonds of friendship and cooperation between both nations will continue to strengthen and diversify in the years to come.
The President extended his greetings and felicitations to the government and people of the Arab Republic of Egypt on the eve of their National Day (July 23).
“On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me great pleasure to extend warm greetings and felicitations to you and to the people of Egypt on the occasion of your National Day,” President Mukherjee said in his message to his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
President Mukherjee said India and Egypt have traditionally enjoyed warm and friendly relations.
“I take this opportunity to emphasize the importance that India attaches to its relations with Egypt. I remain confident that Egypt will continue to move ahead on the path of political stability and economic revival under your able leadership and that the bonds of friendship and cooperation between India and Egypt will continue to strengthen and diversify in the years to come,” President Mukherjee said.
“I take this opportunity to extend to Your Excellency my best wishes for your good health and for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of Egypt.”
