Good news for all you ‘Game of Thrones’ fans! HBO bosses have declared that there may be more season or seasons before the super hit fantasy comes to an end.
Earlier, the show was predicted to have seven seasons, but HBO’s president of programming Michael Lombardo said while addressed critics during the 2015 Summer TCA press tour, that “seven seasons and out” had never been the conversation.
The main question was how much beyond they were willing to take the series based on George R.R. Martin’s books after seventh season, and would probably end whenever executive producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss wanted it to.
When asked if there was a possibility of getting a Game of Thrones prequel-which would probably deal with the Mad King and the history with the Targaryens, a.k.a. it would be awesome-gave a similar answer.
Lombardo also opened up to the idea of having a prequel to the show, saying that they would have to figure it out and were currently just busy figuring out the next few years of this show.
In addition to that, in a heartbreaking confirmation he also said while speculations regarding Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, being alive were circulating, he was very much “dead.”
