Drake’s album ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’, which has sold over one million copies since its release, has become the first 2015 album to go platinum in the US.
The 28-year-old rapper’s all other four albums have also touched the one million mark, with ‘Nothing Was the Same’ (released 2013; 1.72 million), ‘Take Care’ (2011; 2.26 million) and ‘Thank Me Later’ (2010; 1.8 million) all achieving platinum status.
The rapper took to Instagram to celebrate and wrote, “Platinum off the tape. Views up next. Thank you once again”.
However, the only other album to reach at the million mark was Taylor Swift’s 2014 release ‘1989’.
Drake will release his next album, ‘Views from the 6′, in September and is hoping to make it five platinum albums in a row.
