31 people were able to parachute to safety.
The Slovak aviation authorities said the Czech-made Let L-140 turboprop planes collided at about 5,000 feet near the village of Cerveny Kamen around 7:20 a.m.
A Slovak Ministry of Health spokesman said that four pilots and three of the parachutists died while five parachutists had minor injuries.
