Barack Obama presents National Medal of Arts to actress Sally Field says we really like you

President Barack Obama presented the National Medal of Arts to actress Sally Field at the White House and told her “We like you. We really like you.”

Field received the award for dignity, empathy and fearlessness of her performances that have touched audiences around the world and for deploying those same rich qualities off screen in her advocacy for women, LGBT rights and public health.

The 68-year-old won the Oscar for Best Actress twice in the 80s for her roles in `Norma Rae` and `Places in the Heart.`

The honorees included actress Sally Field, author Stephen King and chef Alice Waters.
