Aiming to fine-tune its war fighting strategies, India will hold a massive military exercise on its western front in Rajasthan in October-November.
Indian Army’s 21 Corps, one of the 3 strike corps, will be at the core of the exercise which will have armoured, artillery and infantry divisions taking part in it.
The exercise, reportedly, is primarily being held to practise swift, high-intensity attacks into enemy territory.
Importantly, Army chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag had recently stated that his force’s operational strategy had factored in the need to be ready for “swift, short nature of future wars” with “limited warning time”.
over 30,000 troops, hundreds of T-90S and T-72 battle tanks, artillery guns, rocket systems – all supported by satellites and drones, and airborne radars – will take part in the exercise.
The newspaper quoted sources as saying that Pakistan has been informed about the impending military exercise, as is the protocol between the two countries.
