Nehru Stadium in Fatorda against the 2014 edition semi-finalists FC Goa on Sunday. As the home team managed to win it with a 2-0 result, a lot of fresh new faces were seen on both sides. One such face was that of Adil Nabi, who joined Delhi Dynamos FC from English club West Bromwich Albion ahead of the second season.

He got on to the field for Delhi Dynamos FC in the second half but despite his best efforts couldn’t put his team on the victory path. Nabi, however, had quite a lot to take away from his first-ever Hero ISL appearance.

“It was a good experience, my first game! We can only build from here. We wanted a better result but we’ll come again next time,†said the 21-year old forward.

“From 2-0 down, the next goal could have decided it. We could’ve gotten that goal, since we played better in the second half. We’re slowly getting better together,†he added.

Delhi Dynamos FC were seen to have missed quite a few chances, hitting the post on a number of occasions but Nabi was not demoralised and hoped for a better show in the next match. “Sadly, we couldn’t do it this time, but next game we will put it in the back of the net!â€

Zico’s men dominated possession throughout the match, and were the better performers as well.

This was further heightened by the overwhelming support from the home crowd. “They [the crowd] were brilliant. Home support gave them a slight advantage. We’ll be better next time!†Nabi concluded.

Delhi Dynamos FC play their next game at home on October 8 against Chennaiyin FC.
