BENGALURU: The Karnataka high court has asked the special investigation team (SIT) probing the insider corruption in the Lokayukta to file objections with regards to a bail petition filed by N Narasimha Murthy, a first division assistant in the state police chief’s office.
Narasimha Murthy was arrested for allegedly demanding and accepting Rs 5 lakh from a superintendent engineer of the public works department holding out a promise that he was in constant touch with the son of Karnataka Lokayukta and that he would wriggle him (engineer) out of trouble.
Narasimha Murthy was arrested on August 19 and is presently under judicial custody in Central Prison, Parappana Agrahara.
