The United States on Thursday stressed the need for both India and Pakistan to work together to defeat terrorists.
In a press briefing, Mark Toner, the spokesperson for the US State Department said that ties between both the countries are critical to achieve peace and stability in South Asia.
Toner said the US wanted the perpetrators of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, that left 166 people dead, must be held accountable for their crimes.
He added that US wants India to have stronger counter-terrorism cooperation all the South Asia countries including Pakistan.
