Breakthrough’s Ring The Bell expedition against domestic violence Video van will bring a change

Breakthrough a human right organization working on women issues, started a video van under “Ring The Bell†expedition against domestic violence, the gram panchayat of Mudushedde approved the van. CDPO Usman inaugurated it. In the auspicious presence of Mr. Hariprasad Shetty – President, Mudushedde Panchayat, Smt. Shambhavi – vice President, Mudushedde Panchayat and Smt. Susheela, Panchayat Development Officer, Mudushedde and Joshy Jose, Director, program management, Breakthrough.
The van will go in 4 taluks of Dakshinakannada namely Mangalore, Belthangady, Bantwal and Sullia.
Video van will educate the community in respect of ‘Protection of women against domestic violence Act 2005’ Along with this street performances, games and promotion stuff will be organized to create awareness of domestic violence.

Breakthrough is working in two blocks Mangalore and Bantwal. Five Panchayats in Mangalore and five in Bantwal
On this occasion Kanmani, State Manager, Breakthrough told us that this expedition motivates the men and teenagers to raise a voice against domestic violence and implement the laws of P.W.D.V Act 2005. We want people to come along with us and whenever they see violence against a women ‘ring the bell’ and stop domestic violence. He said that domestic violence is not a personal issue but has become a social issue now, men should come forward and help in women empowerment. Women should not only identify their rights but should implement them as well.
It is not a fight between men and women but a fight against social evils. We all should come along with ‘ring the bell’ expedition and end this difference of men and women. He said that this video van will run in around 20 gram panchayats from 1st November.

Mr. Hariprasad Shetty – President, Mudushedde Panchayat, said that being a aware citizen, it is our duty to allow everybody in the society to live violence free without any discrimination. For this we all should be linked into one, because this fight cannot be fought alone, we all should come together and join ‘Ring The Bell’ expedition.
